Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of There Are No Kings ("we," "our," or "us"), including any content, functionality, accounts, and services offered on or through the website (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. We require a verified email address, and may additionally require a verified phone number, before you can submit content, become a contributor or writer, or receive payouts. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.

2. Nature of the content — opinion and commentary

The Service publishes political commentary, analysis, and side-by-side juxtapositions of public statements and actions by public figures. All characterizations of "hypocrisy," "contradiction," or similar are statements of opinion and protected commentary based on disclosed sources, and are not assertions of objective fact. We focus on public figures acting in their public capacity. Where we quote or embed third-party content, we link to the original source so you can review it in context.

3. Accuracy and corrections

We combine human editorial review with automated tooling and community submissions. While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that all content is complete, current, or error-free. If you believe something is inaccurate, please use our contact page to request a correction; our handling of corrections is described in our Editorial & Corrections Policy.

4. User submissions and contributor content

When you submit a report, comment, application, or article, you represent that (a) you own or have the rights to the content, (b) it does not infringe any third party's rights, and (c) it is not unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or hateful. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), publish, and display your submission in connection with operating and promoting the Service. You retain ownership of your underlying content.

5. Writers and revenue share

Approved writers may publish articles subject to editorial review. Where the Writer Program is enabled, eligible writers earn a revenue share of the advertising revenue attributable to their published articles, calculated and paid as described in the program terms shown in your writer dashboard. Payouts are processed through Stripe and require completed identity/payout verification. We may modify the share percentage, minimum payout threshold, or suspend the program with reasonable notice.

6. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• post unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or infringing content;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
• scrape, overload, or attempt to circumvent the security of the Service;
• submit content you do not have the right to submit; or
• use the Service to violate any applicable law.

7. Advertising

The Service displays advertising, including first-party placements. Advertisers do not influence editorial decisions. Purchases of ad placements are subject to any additional terms presented at checkout.

8. Intellectual property

Except for user submissions, the Service and its original content, features, and branding are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, see the takedown / DMCA instructions on our contact page.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your submissions or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or for conduct we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date above and, where appropriate, additional notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
